Sulfur is becoming increasingly popular because of its incredible ability to
terminate joint pain for sufferers (including athletes), and its surprising effects
on skin, hair and nails. The element is actually found in our bodies. One of
the body's antioxidants, glutathione, needs sulfur to get rid of DNA mutations
and free radicals, and sulfur also assists in connecting the keratin protein
strands that comprise our skin, hair and nails. This mysterious element is
currently studied for its anti-aging properties, and do not be surprised if you
see it in high end products before long. Its ability to make skin appear
youthful and radiant are comparable to the celebrated ingredient, green tea.
FDA-approved sulfur also works miracles on acne because it unclogs
stubborn pores and dries up pimples. One of my favorite skincare products,
Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque, clears up your face overnight. Instead of
leaving it on for 15 minutes, if I have clogged pores, I leave it on while I sleep
and wake up to clear skin. Note: I would not recommend leaving it on
overnight the first time, but work up to it. When you rinse it off, apply some
moisturizer and your skin will look refreshed and radiant.
