Meet Heather and Kerry Collins, twins and partners of Twigs and
Heather. The designs are inspired by nature and handcrafted. If
you're looking for one-of-a-kind pieces, you've come to the right place.
Hip Chick Zine: How'd you learn to be silversmiths and casters?
Heather: I apprenticed with a caster in Boston for a couple of years
and learned the craft. When I opened Twigs and Heather studio in
2000, I taught Kerry everything I knew and we became partners.
HCZ: What are your most popular designs?
The most popular designs are the anchors for Kerry's designs and
the birch rings and the twig necklaces for Heather's.
HCZ: What are your favorite pieces to make and wear?
Heather: My favorite pieces to make and wear are the twigs. They are
my pride and joy. I wear the first branch cuff I ever cast and lots of
different twig necklaces. Everytime I make a new piece, I fall in love
with it. Needless to say, my private collection is very big.
Kerry: I love making the sacred hearts because of the meaning
behind them is pure love. It is for the same reason that I love wearing
them.
HCZ: What's your favorite season?
Heather and Kerry: Our favorite season is autumn because we love
the leaves, pumpkins and the cool weather, but winter is the perfect
twig pickin' season.
